January 2024
On January 18-19, 2024, SMILE partners assembled in Heidelberg, Germany, for the Gamified Scenarios Workshop. The University of Heidelberg hosted a 2-day workshop to refine game mechanisms, select impactful scenarios, plan the game’s modules, scenes, and players’ challenges. Now, with a clear timeline in place, the SMILE team is excited to move forward with the development of the SMILE Serious Game and transform these discussions into powerful actions aligning with our mission: Empower for a resilient youth community.

We have had some fantastic networking experiences recently in our workshops, which were packed with rich conversations and ideas. We held a scoping workshop to grow the MIND network on 27th March where we generated lots of ideas and started building a team. We followed the internal MIND workshop with an external workshop on 18th April where we generated ideas that are now being taken forward to funding applications for Digital mental health. We are now looking forward to our follow on events so please get in touch if you are interested in joining our MIND network.
On April 08-10, 2024, SMILE Partners from across Europe gathered in Edinburgh, United Kingdom, for the General Assembly. The 3-day event hosted by the University of Edinburgh and Heriot-Watt University was a hub for sharing progress updates, celebrating key achievements, and charting ambitious future plans. The SMILE team engaged in discussions, brainstorming, addressing essential topics, and strategising for the success of the project. We also enjoyed some well-deserved team bonding moments, strengthening our connections.

In collaboration with the European Health and Digital Executive Agency (HaDEA) and Mental Health Europe (MHE), on May 15, 2024, the SMILE project held its first joint webinar with 7 European projects focusing on co-creation in mental health research.
